Jim Edward Bridges

Jim Edward Bridges, 51, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, in Plano, Texas, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Jim was born in Natchitoches to Herman and Wilda Bridges Sept. 1, 1958, and he grew up with brothers Doug and Mike and sister Betty Katherine Shutt.

After moving to Ft. Wayne with EDS, Jim met and married Judith Schenkel. Their children, Benjamin, Alexis and Audrey, were dearly loved. Jim is survived by his mother, both brothers, sister, wife and children.

He was vice president and chief operations officer for the EDS Asia Pacific region. He has worked extensively in the global market in North America, Europe, South America and Asia.

Jim was named one of the Distinguished Alumni from Northwestern State University. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Throughout his life, Jim volunteered his time coaching football and track, working closely with the Vivenda da Crianca Boy's Orphanage in Sao Paulo, participating as a member of the Knights of Columbus and teaching pre-confirmation classes with his wife, Judy.

His passions included cooking, being with his wife and children, spending time with friends at Big Long Lake, fishing Cane River and riding his Harley-Davidson.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec 3 at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home in Ft. Wayne with a vigil at 7 P.j.
