Freda Green Freda Green HINGHAM Freda (Mester) Green, l03 years of age, passed away at the Norwell Knoll Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, December l0, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Freda was born in Barrow-in-Furness, England on June l, l906. She was the daughter of the late Sarah S. Mester and Joseph Henry Mester. She was the eldest of five sisters. She came to the United States in l929 where she met her late beloved husband, Herbert E. Green, of Hingham. Freda was a resident of Weymouth for over sixty years before moving to her daughter and son-in-law's home in Hingham. Her family and friends were her most treasured possessions. She was an avid reader, sewer, traveler and writer. Freda was very proud of publishing her memoirs Fredas Reflections in October of this year. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Doris G. Chisholm who is the wife of the late Andrew Chisholm of South Weymouth and Edna G. Hollander and her husband Albert Buzz Hollander of Hingham. Devoted grandmother of Jeffrey A. Hollander of South Weymouth, Linnea Hollander Norris and her husband Robert Norris of Hanson and Roger A. Chisholm of South Weymouth. Loving great-grandmother of Erin T. Hollander of Abington, Benjamin R. Norris of Hanson, Elijah Green Norris of Hanson and Hailey M. Norris of Hanson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews here and in Great Britain and Scotland, including her namesake Freda D. Burke of Pembroke, MA. Freda was married in Christ Church, Quincy Center and attended meetings of the Womens Society of the Weymouth United Methodist Church as well as attending the coffee hour group meetings there. A funeral service will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck Russell Peck Funeral Home, 870 Broad Street (opposite the U.S. Post Office in Jackson Square), EAST WEYMOUTH on Tuesday, December 15th, at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Clifford Brown rector of Christ Church, Quincy will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, E.Weymouth. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be sent to the Weymouth United Methodist Church, 747 Broad Street, East Weymouth, MA. 02189 or to the charity of your choice.
