Ruby L. Brunke, departed this life and entered The Eternal Home on December 11, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. Ruby was 99 years of age having been born on Octember 19, 1910, in Campbell, Nebraska to Carl and Bertha (Erickson) Lindgren.

Ruby graduated from Campbell (Nebraska) High School with The Class of 1927. On April 18, 1928, she married Fredrick "Fritz" Brunke in Smith Center, Kansas. She was a homemaker and had also worked at Grandview Manor Nursing Home in Campbell, Nebraska

Ruby was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Campbell, Nebraska had been choir director for many years, was a Sunday school teacher, was a member of the United Presbyterian Women and Rebekah's, and was a Boy Scout leader and 4-H leader for many years.

Survivors are daughters, Jolene Sanger and Jacklyn Smith, both of Campbell, Nebraska; Jerrylyn Kuhlman of Olathe, Kansas and Jayne Brunke-Proskocil and her husband, Gary, of Kearney, Nebraska; sons, Gary Brunke and his wife, Julie, of Fredricksburg, Colorado; Robert Brunke and his wife, Elaine, of Phoenix, Arizona and Charles Brunke and his wife, Sharon, of Martell, Nebraska and a host of friends and relatives.

Ruby was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by: parents, Carl and Bertha Lindgren; husband, Fredrick Brunke; daughter, Janice Choquette; infant daughter, Janet Joy; brother, Charles Lindgren; grandsons, Steven Kuhlman and John Smith; and sons-in-law, Wilmer Sanger, Ray Smith and LeRoy Kuhlman.
