Bertha Clinch-Smith, beloved daughter of Charles J. and Mary L. Barnes, who died at Leysin, Switzerland, Aug. 19, will be interred in the Ludington lot at Graceland cemetery on Thursday. Oct. 30, at 3 p.m.

June 1895 Bertha married James Clinch Smith, wealthy lawyer of NYC. They lived for some time in Europe and she led an all-female orchestra there. They had no children.

Sadly, James was back to NY to prepare the family home for Bertha's move back to his family home when he perished on the Titanic. She suffered declining health and never recovered... dying 16 months after James
