Mrs. Gwen L. Gazaway, age 77 of Newnan, GA passed away on May 5, 2009. Gwen was a professional artist and member of the Newnan Coweta Art Association and many other local art associations.
She was preceded in death by her precious husband of 52 years, Bill Gazaway; her mother, Louise Heard Webb Witherington; and her father, Willis "Dubb" L. Webb. She is survived by her daughter, Alicia Rainwater (Ed); 2 grandchildren, Scott Griffin, and Marcella Griffin, of Newnan, GA; 2 step-grandchildren, Shalon Woodham, of Newnan, GA and Angela Head (Jim) of Dothan, AL; 8 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Joe Gazaway; sister-in-laws, Rheta Blankenship (George), and Cathy Lane, all of Sharpsburg, GA; and many aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009 at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in Peachtree City, GA at 12:00 noon with Rev. John McDuffie and Rev. Doug Anderson officiating at the service. The interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 7, 2009 from 5-8pm with a Rosary to be held in the chapel at 8pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Roseland Cemetery Volunteer Association at PO Box 25, Newnan, GA 30264.
