GLADYS PALMER KIRK

Gladys Palmer Kirk, 99, died April 12, 1991 in Des Moines, Iowa. She spent her early life in Wayne and Lucas Counties.

On March 11, 1914, she and Lloyd A. Kirk were united in marriage and spent the 48 years of their married life in Derby, Iowa.

In 1962, she moved to Des Moines, where she lived independently until she was 95 years of age. At that time failing health caused her to move to Urbandale Health Care Center at the age of 99.

She enjoyed all kinds of handwork and raising beautiful flowers. She was a member of the Derby Garden Club as long as she lived there. She was also a 70 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughter, Gwen Wells, of Des Moines; a grandson, Don Wells and wife Bonnie of Ankeny, a great-granddaughter, Ashley, and several nieces and nephews.

Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines was in charge of arrangements.

GLADYS PALMER KIRK
