Mother of Local Resident Dies

Funeral services for Mrs. J. R. Burson, 86, were held Tuesday in Silverton, Tex., who died Sunday in Plainview, Tex., hospital.

She is the mother of Mrs. Milton K. Bell of Monrovia. Mrs. Bell was among those attending the rites.

Mrs. Burson was born near Winnsboro in Wood county, Texas, the daughter of the late R. F. and Dora Todd. She married Jefferson Richmond Burson in Stephens county, Texas, in 1895, and had four sons and six daughters.

Mrs. Burson, who was preceded in death by her husband on June 7, 1952, is survived by Mrs. Bell and daughters, Mrs. Jessie B. Weeks, Mrs. Abbie Ann Whitacre and Miss Maude Dean Burson of Plainsview; Mrs. Amye Jewell Light of Panhandle, Tex., and Mrs. Minnie Haynes of Silverton.

Four sons, J. Grandy of Amarillo, Jerry R. of Mineral Wells, Tex.; Max W. and Todd Edd, both of Plainview. Also two brothers, R. M. Todd of Hobbs, N.M., and R. R. Todd of Breckenridge, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Maude Vick and Mrs. M. M. Carey of Breckenridge and Mrs. Luther Kirkpatrick of Ranger, Tex.
