Walter M. McDougle
Walter M. McDOUGLE, 83, died Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at his home on East Fourth street at the east edge of the city. He had been in ill health with a heart condition since March 1 and was seriously ill the past month.
A retired farmer and sign painter, Mr. McDougle was born June 13, 1883, in Cass county, the son of Edwin and Martha TILTON McDOUGLE. He lived in this city since 1924, moving from Fulton. His marriage was April 20, 1918, at Logansport, to Elizabeth DICKINSON, who survives. He was a member of the Rochester E.U.B. church.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. William (Mary) DENISTON, and Mrs. Hubert (Jean) GARBER, both of Rochester; Mrs. William (Helen) SMITH, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Richard (Kathleen) DOWNS, O'Fallon, Ill.; ten grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Adeline TROUTMAN, Orlando, Fla., and nieces and nephews. One brother and one sister preceded in death.
Private funeral rites will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth FOULK of South Bend, former E.U.B. minister here, officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. The family asks that memorials other than flowers be made to he charity of the donor's choice.
