Mrs. Best died September 5, 1997 at her home in Woodville. A native of Woodville, she lived in Port Arthur 38 years before moving back to Woodville 40 years ago. She was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Woodville.
Survivors include her sons, Jack G. Best of Woodville, and R. Gene Best of Liberty; sisters, Virgie Peacock of Nederland and Elsie Backin of Mississippi; brothers, Roy Greer of Port Neches, and Bruce Greer of Nederland, six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Randy Best, Kevin Best, John Best, Dave Wilcox, Tony Silkwood and Jared Best. Honorary pallbearer was Robert Blanco.
