MRS. ALICE MONGER DIES AT HOSPITAL

Funeral Services Will Be Held At Elkton Tuesday Afternoon At 2:30

Mrs. Alice Monger, aged 53, beloved Elkton resident, died at Rockingham Memorial Hospital yesterday morning, at ten o'clock, after an illness of several months.

Mrs. Monger was stricken with diphtheria several months ago, and was brought to the hospital, where she received treatment. She was returned to her home, and appeared to be recovering. She became worse last week, and was returned to the hospital here Saturday night.

Mrs. Monger was the widow of Samuel W. Monger, Elkton wheelwright, who died last November. She was a daughter of the late William and Molly Martin of Alma, Page County, where she spent her early life. She had lived in Elkton since her marriage.

Mrs. Monger was a member of the Methodist Church for over 20 years, and was a woman loved by all. Her unexpected death came as a shock to the Elkton community.

Surviving are: seven children - Mrs. Mildred House and Mrs. Irene Austin, of Shenandoah City; Mrs. Helen Rogers, of Mt. Crawford; Mrs. Janet Curtis, of Elkton; Misses Vell and Bella and Randall Monger, at home; five brothers, - Harry E. Martin, of Cedarville, Va.; Ben Martin, of Akron, Ohio; Charles Martin, of Newark, Ohio; Jonah Martin, of Pittsburgh; and William Martin, of Alma; and three sisters - Mrs. William Suthpin, of Flint Hill; Mrs. O. A. Flippo, of Harrisonburg; and Miss Bessie Martin, of Hagerstown, Md.

Funeral services will be held from the home at Elkton, Tuesday afternoon, at 2:30, her pastor, the Rev. A. Vandevender, and the Rev. Bolling Hobson officiating.

Active - N. V. Fitzwater, W. E. Kite, C. W. McGuire, T. E. Barton, Ben Offenbacker, and J. T. Scruggs.
Honorary - W. H. McVeigh, Dr. E. B. Miller, A. B. Cover, J. S. Eaton and others.
