Jeremiah Solon "Sol" Daily was the son of Jeremiah David Daily and Malinda Swindle Daily. His birthdate was Sept. 3, 1852 and he was born in Russellville Ala. An article in the Franklin Co. Al. Men of Note. J. S. Daily, better known as Sole Daily, was one of the county's most prominent teachers for several yrs. following the Civil War. Mr. Daily was a son of Jeremiah Daily, the noted Baptist preacher. He is reported as a good instructor especially in mathematics, but he was rather harsh and inflicted very severe punishment on disobedient students. He was in the mercantile business in Russellville Ar. for some time, and latter moved to Ok, where his death occurred. In later yrs. Mr. Daily taught classes in arithmetic and was the author of a book in arithmetic methods. the name of which was "The Daily Teacher."
