Obituary
R. A. Abernathy, who was born on Leatherwood Creek, Giles County, Tenn., April 6th, 1820, died at Bonham, Texas, March 2nd, 1885. He had been in bad health two years, but it was not thought he would die so soon.
In an early day, the family removed to Big Creek, 10 miles north of Pulaski. He remained here until 1855, when he and his brother E. G. Abernathy moved to Green County, Mo. In 1861, he came to Texas. During the last 15 years, he resided in Bonham, Fannin County.
