Funeral services for Mancos resident Mildred Odell Spencer will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 30 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Pastor David Ramsey will officiate.

She was born Sept. 30, 1911, in Archibald, La., to George and Ethel (Tomlinson) Clampitt. She died Friday, March 25, 2005 at the Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 93.

She married Olen Amos Spencer on Jan. 29, 1933 in Mancos. She was a dedicated homemaker to her husband and four children. She was a member of the Southwest Cowbelles, and Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening; especially gladiolas.

Surviving are her children, Glen Spencer and wife, Eva, of Bloomfield, N.M., and Alice Riggins and husband, Cal, of Idaho. She leaves eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren behind as well.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Olen Amos Spencer; her son, James Spencer; her daughter, Carolyn Johnston; and one brother.
