Shadrack Jarmon ODOM, son of James ODOM, Jr. and Mary CRISP; born 21 April 1818, near Auburn, Wilson Co. (now near Auburntown, Cannon Co.,) TN; died age 69 on 16 August 1887, Boyce, near Mustang Creek, Ellis Co., Texas; buried Waxahachie City Cemetery, Waxahachie, Ellis Co., TX.

About 1837 - MARRIED.
Shadrack Jarmon ODOM and Sarah W. OWEN were married about 1837, but no marriage record has been found. The MINUTE BOOK of November Term 1837 shows that Sarah was probably already married by November 1837 as she is identified as 'Sarah Odom'. In 1837, Shadrack would have been about age 18/19 and Sarah age 16/17, depending on when they were married. Sarah & Shadrack had 16 known children, with their first child born in Sept. 1838.

Shadrack had 16 known children, all born in Cannon Co., TN. The family later moved to Ellis Co., Texas.
