This headstone is laying flat on the ground and is broken off of it's base.Unfortunately the weather has taken it's toll on the stone.

We love this headstone so it's very sad for us to see it sinking into the ground and being destroyed by the elements due to the porous stone. The caretakers of the cemetery here are unusually diligent and deserve much credit for the preservation of the entire cemetery and Mary Ann's grave. They have considered the extremely fragile and brittle state of this headstone in their plans to preserve it. They would welcome any donations for helping them preserve this cemetery. Mary Ann's headstone would require meticulous, loving and patient digging around the edges in order to avoid damaging it. We are planning a trip back to try and help preserve it as best we can under the direction of the cemetery caretakers.
