Complications caused the death of George Wesley Murphy, aged 72, Sunday morning at 7 o'clock at the home of his son, Liberty R. Murphy of near Hartwood, eight miles east of Newcomerstown.

His parents were the late Josiah and Elizabeth Chadwell Murphy, and he was born in Washington tp, Tuscarawas Co. he was one of the leading members of Hartwood M.E. church.

One son, Liberty Murphy, one daughter, Mrs. Bertha Hollingsworth of Uhrichsville; a brother, Brice of Kansas, a half-brother J.J. Murphy of near Hartwood, and three half-sisters, Mrs. Lannie Carpenter, New Philadelphia; Mrs. A.M. Blair and Mrs. Henry Cappel, both of near Hartwood, survive. His wife preceded him to the grave 18 months ago.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock at Hartwood church in charge of Rev. Clark and burial will be made in the church cemetery.
