Cecil Ewing Sick, Sr. 72, died Dec. 9, 1996 at his residence. Mr. Sick was born in Pelly, Tx on Feb. 7, 1924. He was a combat veteran of WW II serving with the 101st Airborne Div. in Europe. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying many fishing and hunting trips in the Hill Country, Lake Livingston, and in the fields and marshes of the Trinity Bay area, with his three sons and friends. In addition, he enjoyed traveling with his wife Martha (especially to Lake Tahoe) and gardening in his yard. He also enjoyed writing poetry. He as a member of Ulvalde Baptist Church and a strong believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. He retired after forty-three years of service with Baker-Hughes Tool Company. Mr. Sick is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Martha, of Houston; sons Cecil Ewing Sick, Jr. & wife Ginger of Houston, Randy Lee Sick of Houston, Kent Alan Sick & wife Annette of Austin; sister Marguerite Brown & husband Joe of Abilene; grandchildren Melissa Sick of Houston; brother and sisters in-law Bob Garvey & wife Agnes, Frances Tomek and many nieces and nephews. Service will be held at 2 pm Wed., Dec. 11, 1996 from the chapel of Howard-Glendale Funeral Directors. Rev. Rob Harris of Ulvalde Baptist Church officiating. Interment at San Jacinto Memorial Park
