Helen was a seamstress born in Gothenburg, Sweden. She came to the United States in 1913 and lived in New York City. There she met future silent film star Karl Dane, born Rasmus Karl Therkelsen Gottlieb. Karl was a stuntman and extra in Vitagraph films at the time, but Helen didn't approve of this life, so the pair left NY in 1920 and moved out to California where they settled in Van Nuys on Kester Avenue and operated a chicken farm. Sadly, Helen died in childbirth, along with their baby girl, on August 9, 1923. She is buried in Grandview Cemetery (LOt 92, Section H)in Glendale CA.

From road, at last tree in Section H closest to Kenneth Rd. (it has a spicket next to it) go two rows in to Jolly J and Belle Hocking, Helen & daughter's headstone should be in the space above them.

On either side of the Danes are Forrest C. Tribble and George B. Crum.

Grave above them is shared grave of Bertha Grill & Ardell Wallace.
