Arrived in New Orleans on 13 May 1843 and died less than 6 months later of "black canker". Had come to Nauvoo, IL as a Mormon and died shortly after arrival, two days after his youngest son, Alexander, was born.
There is no grave marker, but he is buried in the old Nauvoo Cemetery.
