ANDERSON, BELVIA OUSLEY - age 99, of Fountain City, passed away at home, Monday, September 25, 2000. She was born November 19, 1900, on a farm in Union County, and taught school in Union County in her early years. She finished her teaching career at Smithwood Elementary School in Fountain City. She and her husband, H.E. Anderson, owned and operated Anderson Lumber Company. She belonged to Central Baptist Church of Fountain City and was a dedicated member of the Rachel Bond Sunday SchoolClass and an active participant in the Fun Fitness exercise program. She also taught Sunday School for many years. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Helen Anderson Sharp and John B. Sharp of Knoxville; three grandchildren, Nancy Sharp Voith of Dallas, Texas, Paul Anderson Sharp of Burbank, Calif., and Mary Jean Sharp of Durham, N.C.; five great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Edgemon of Ten Mile, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel, Rev. Ed Jenkins officiating. Then proceed to Lynnhurst Cemetery for an interment service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests, memorial donations be made to the Interfaith Health Clinic, 315 Gill Ave., Knoxville, TN 37917, or Central Baptist Church, 5364 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37918, or the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday. Arrangements by Gentry-Griffey Chapel.
