Barbara B. Marker, age 100 of Nashua, Iowa died Sunday December 6, 2009, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Nashua, with Msgr. Stanley Hayek celebrating the Mass.

Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Nashua with Leon Marker, Troy Marker, Craig Marker, LaVern Hon, Lee Biretz and Paul Schultz as pallbearers. Lyle Marker is an honorary pallbearer.

Friends may call 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 11, 2009, at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua. Visitation continues 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Barbara B. Marker was born January 15, 1909, in St. Lucas, IA, the daughter of Jacob and Constance (Meylinger) Biretz. Barbara was married to Henry N. Pierre. The couple never had any children. Barbara and Henry worked for the McGregor Family in their farming operation and whenever possible enjoyed the outdoors together. Henry died in 1984. Barbara later married John Marker. She was 77 years old when she remarried and enjoyed riding motorcycle with John. Also in her free time she enjoyed crocheting. Her second husband, John died in 1992.

Survivors include a step-son, Lyle (Diane) Marker of Rockford, IA; three step-grandsons, Leon (Vicky) Marker, Troy Marker all of Rockford, Craig Marker of Nora Springs.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands; five brothers and three sisters.
