She was born Dec. 16, 1923, in Sheldon, Mo., to Calvin Bare and Mae Orem Bare. She married Wayne Eugene Doolin on May 5, 1945, in San Diego, Calif. He preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1982. Nanabel attended the Ferry School near Sheldon and was a graduate of Nevada High School in 1941. She lived nearly all of her lifetime in Vernon County. She served as the Drywood Township Collector for many years and was a member of the Milo Get-Together Club.
Survivors include two sons, Scotty Doolin, Milo, Mo., and Brad Doolin, Nevada, Mo; one daughter, Janice Doolin, of the home; eight grandchildren, Kim Stevenson, Melissa Doolin, Eric Doolin, Gavin Doolin, Heather Dilly, Keri Pilcher, Misty Manes and Jamei Harris; two stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Lanham and Daron Burt, nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Mae Thomas, Raymore, Mo., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo., with John Nichols officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 7-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
