Eva Jewell Lyons Rusen was born to Ivy and Lucy D. Jarmin Hoyle on Nov. 2, 1934, in Poteau, Okla.

Eva married Robert Ray Lyons in Fiddletown, Calif., on July 2, 1951. She lived in Corvallis from 1951 until 2000, when she moved to Albany. She retired from Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in 1999 after 27 years of service, primarily working in the labor and delivery department. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, crocheting, camping and fishing. The time with family was most precious to her.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Lyons, in 1995, and her second husband, John Rusen, in 2004. She is survived by sister Helen Mabry of Bakersfield, Calif.; daughters Lois Bruce of Philomath, Vicky Johnson of Corvallis, Barbara Frank of Portland, and Trina Plumb of Salem; sons Robert Lyons of Albany and Lonnie Lyons of Corvallis; and 10 grandchildren.

A funeral service will take place at 12:30 p.m. today at McHenry Funeral Home, with a reception following. Burial will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Garden. The family suggests contributions to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice in care of McHenry Funeral Home, 206 N.W. Fifth St., Corvallis, OR 97330.
