The following excerpt was taken from an article entitled "Cozatt family settled in Parksville" written by Brenda S. Edwards and published in the Advocate-Messenger (Danville, KY) on Sunday, October 27, 2002:

Francis' third son, Jacob Cossart (Sept. 11, 1773-Sept. 10, 1822), married Margaret Comingore Aug. 9, 1798. She was born Feb. 15, 1783, and died June 2, 1842. She was a daughter of Henry and Rachel Bronwer Comingore and was baptized April 27, 1783, in Conewago, Pa. All the Kenutcky Cozatts descend from Jacob and Margaret Cossart.
Three of their 12 children - Daniel, Jacob C. and John C. - lived in the Parksville area. John's children moved to Georgia and little is known about them. The Jacksons descended from Jacob Comingore Cozart. Hays descended from Daniel.
Jacob C. (May 22, 1817-Nov. 11, 1886) married Emily May Sept. 26, 1837. They had 12 children, including William Thomas Cozatt (Jan. 1, 1853-June 7, 1939). He married Rachel Katherine "Kate" Culton Nov. 4, 1874. He was referred to as Grandpa Cozatt and was noted in the Parksville area for his fruit and berries.
They had two daughters, Ella Pearl and Elizabeth Melvin, and adopted four girls and a boy. Elizabeth M. (Aug. 21, 1881-July 13, 1942) married Frank William Jackson. They had three children: Ella Pearl (Aug. 31, 1886-Aug. 12, 1957), who married Murray Thompson Webb. They did not have any children. Frank William Jackosn (Jan. 9, 1877-Oct. 13, 1959) married Elizabeth Melvin Cozatt. Their first child, a daughter died before she was named and is buried in the Parksville Cemetery. They also had Frank William Jackson Jr. (March 20, 1903-June 10, 1966) and Thomas Cozatt Jackson (Sept. 11, 1905-Feb. 10, 1978).
Daniel Cossart (June 10, 1801-Feb. 21, 1877) married Elizabeth Tewmey May 23, 1824. They lived in Parksville and had four children: Jacob, William, Jordan and Sarah. William died young; Sarah married Sam Turner and Jacob married Mary Ann Rose. No information is available on Jordan.
