She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church. Throughout her life she loved to garden and most of all, cooking for her family and friends.
Alma was born Dec. 4, 1924, in Anderson County to the late Marshall and Ethel Foust. In addition to her parents, Alma is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Harmon; daughter, Karen Harmon; brothers, Bill, Carl "Nank," Leroy, and Bob Foust; and sister, Becky Poe.
She is survived by daughter, Debby Cash and husband, Barry, of Powell; sisters, Thelma Wilson of Alabama; Reba Rush of Kevil, Ky.; Joyce Kirk of Lake City; Betty Harmon and husband, Hubert, of Clinton; Dalys Andrews and husband, Don, of Lake City; Lynn Lamson and husband, Steve, of Wartburg; granddogs, Cagney and Lacy; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her caregiver and special friend, Paula Fohey, for her loving care given to Alma during illness.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at Holley Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel with the Rev. Tom Byrge officiating. Her burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2200 Sutherland Avenue, H102, Knoxville, TN 37919.
Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of all arrangements.
