He married Dencey Hazzard on November 12, 1829 in Wayne (now Ashland ) Co., OH. He and Dencey had nine children: Mary Jane, Sarah Jane, John Hazzard, Russell Bigelow, Aaron, Margaret Hyatt, Hiram Shaffer, Ira Hazzard, and Seely Columbus. He may have died in 1843, but my records show September 5, 1844 in Petty, Lawrence Co., IL. He is buried in Calhoun (aka Fairfield Cemetery), Richland Co., IL. . He had 360 acres or more of land. He was a local preacher of the Methodist Church, and a most exemplary citizen.
