At the Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby. Mrs. Rucker lived in Kings Mountain and was a lifelong member of the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church; a homemaker and seamstress, she also liked to cook.

She is also survived by sons, Tommy Rucker and his wife, Shirley, David Rucker and his wife, Lucy, and Bobby Rucker and his wife, Lisa, all of Kings Mountain; daughters, Helen Thrift of Shelby, Joyce Howell of Gastonia, Jean Houser and her husband Herb of South Carolina, and Rachel Pruitt of Shelby; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Rucker; her parents, Roscoe & Julia (Campbell) Chambers; granddaughter, Cindy Hayes; grandson, Dwayne Rucker; five brothers, and three sisters; daughter-in-law, Judy Rucker; sons-in-law, Fred Thrift, Mike Pruitt, & Ronald Howell.
Interment in the Church graveyard followed funeral services conducted Wednesday, December 26, 2007.
