Charlotte, or "Lottie" as she was called as a child, was born at Gage, Woodward Co., OK. She was the daughter of Taylor Charles Lyon & Mary Amanda Smith.

She married Gustav Adolph Leopold Sopp on 1 Jan 1923 at Ripley, Chautauqua Co., NY. They later divorced.

Charlotte & Gus had two children: Donald James & Betty Jane (Williamson).
