Death of Mrs Henry Childs

Eliza, wife of Henry Childs, died at her home, 1343 Vistula Ave., South Bend, at 5:35 o'clock Thursday morning, Oct. 25th, 1894, after an illness of 14 weeks, aged 54 years, 8 months and 13 days.
Eliza Andrus was born in this township, Feb. 12th, 1840, and was united in marriage to Henry R. Childs, March 8th, 1864. She was the mother of three children, one dying in infancy. Her husband and two children---Mrs. Minnie Sudarth and Edwin F. Childs---survive her. She also leaves three brothers and two sisters--Nelson Andrus of Dayton, Wash.; Riley Andrus of Looking Glass, Oregon; James H. Andrus of this place; Mrs. George Mann and Mrs. Porter Lybarker, of Mason Township.
The funeral was held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, at the house, Rev. N. D. Williamson officiating, and the remains were interred in the Bowman cemetery.
The high esteem in which the deceased was held was attested by the many floral tributes and the large attendance of friends at the funeral.
