Rites held Tuuesday for J. T. Browning

J. T. Browning, well-known and highly respected retired farmer and peanut buyer died at 4:45 p. m. Sunday at his East Main Street home. He was 74 years old.
Mr. Browning had been in declining health for sometime but the end came with unexpected suddeness. He was born in this county April 7, 1887, and spent his life here. His parents were the late John T. and Eliza Swinson Browning.
Mr. Browning was married at Jamesville in 1909 to Miss Naomi Jackson, who survives. He was a member of Christian Hope Church near Plymouth and had served as a deacon in the church.
He leaves other than the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Thelma B. Moore and Hilda B. Hardison, and a son Elmer H. Browning, all of Plymouth; six grandchildren; and one brother, W. W. Browning of Plymouth.
Services were held from Plymouth Church of Christ at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Ben James, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Wilmer Chesson. Burial was in Windley Cemetery.
