Floyd spent 40 years with General Cable Co. in Muncie, Ind. He served 5 years in the army during World War II with two hitches in the Pacific, including New Zealand, the Philippines and Dutch East Indies.

Floyd Edwin Coil 91, died on Monday September 12, 2005 (4 AM) in the St. Vincent Hospice Care Center in Indianapolis, IN. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose Wilma Gaddis Coil formerly of Morton, MS.
He was born on September 19, 1913, the son of the late John Lewis and Mary Alice Detray of Washington CH, Ohio. During the Great Depression he served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. He was a member of the Cyclone Division in the Army in WWII and was stationed in Auckland, New Zealand and South Pacific locations. He livid in Muncie, Indiana for more than 40 years and retired as manager of the shipping Dept at Indiana Steel and Wire in 1975. He was a lifetime member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 74 in Muncie and served as treasurer, secretary and chair. He was an avid coin and stamp collector. He lived in Greenfield, Indiana for nine years and was on the mental Health Association Board and was a volunteer driver for the Red Cross before moving to Morton, Mississippi. He moved to Indianapolis in 2003.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, John Coil, Robert Coil, Anna Velez, and Mary Messersmith; grandchildren, Peter Messersmith and Joaquin Veleze; brother, Herbert Coil of Columbus, and sister, Gladys Coil, Whiteside of Washington CH, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard, E (Craig), Frederick and Earle Coil; and sisters, Helen Coil Bock and Veda Marie Coil.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM at the Littleton Funeral Home Sabina with burial in Sugar Creek Methodist Cemetery, Fayette County. The IOOF Lodge Service will be held at 11:30 AM. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 noon until time of the service.
