Boyd Foran, 63, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at a local hospital.
He was born in Jackson County, and had lived in Bay County most of his life. Boyd served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and worked in construction for numerous local companies. At his death, Boyd worked with A.T. Surveying Co. He was a former member of the Bay County Sheriff's Posse, and loved riding and breaking horses.
He was predeceased by his parents, Willis and Ann Foran; and son, William B. "Bill" Foran. Survivors include a daughter, Amy Foran of Chicago; grandson, Tyler Foran of New Hope, Fla.; sister, Elaine Courtney and Mark of Panama City; nieces, Carrie Jenks (Christian) of Youngstown, Fla., and Paula Courtney of Panama City; two great-nieces whom he loved very much, Courtney and Christen; special friends, Dave and Linda Riggins; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Chris Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 9, 2009, at the funeral home. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Curtis Long, Dave Riggins, Rutherford Surber, Jesse Nelson, George Tuzinkiewicz and Billy Joe Kelly.
The family extends special thanks to Angie, Sommer, Lynette and Kristin at Gulf Coast Medical Center's ICU.
