Here is the Obituary from the Lovell Chronicle Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Clara May Jensen Emmett, 77, died Aug. 25, 2009, at Avalon Care Center in Bountiful, Utah, after a brave battle with a lingering illness. Clara May was born Dec. 8, 1931, in Cowley, the daughter of George Theodore and LaMar Lindsay Jensen.Clara May adored spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clara May touched many lives and was loved by all. Clara May was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many callings and touched the lives of many people. She served as a teacher in the Primary, Mutual and Sunday School. She also served as a Cub Scout leader and a den mother. Clara May served as the secretary for the Relief Society, Young Women and in the Stake Sunday School. She also served as a counselor in the Young Women and the Primary. While she served many people during her life, she was most of all a wife, mother and grandmother.On July 10, 1952, she married the love of her life, Elwood Despain Emmett. They were married in the Idaho Falls Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Clara May worked for Great Western Sugar Company, both in the tarehouse and the lab, for 20 years. She also worked at the Big Horn Cannery, Snedeker's and later retired while working for the Red Apple. She wrote a column in the Lovell Chronicle for several years. She was a former member of the Lovell Woman's Club and served as a 4-H leader for more than 30 years.Clara May was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint and cross-stitching, while dabbling in ceramics and painting.Clara May was preceded in death by her parents, George Theodore and LaMar Lindsay Jensen; her sister Alene Jensen and her beloved son Elwood Dale Emmett.She is survived by her husband, Elwood Despain Emmett of Lovell; her children, Allen J. Emmett (Barbara) of Stockton, Calif.; Alvin Scott Emmett (Elaine) of Lovell; Terry Lee Emmett (Rita) of Cheyenne; Sheryl Goodrich (Gary) of Farmington, Utah; Barbara Barrus (Frank) of Anchorage, Alaska, and Gary Curtis Emmett (Brenda) of Lovell; brothers and sisters, Marvin Jensen (Diane) of Sweethome, Ore.; Charlotte Cox (Richard, deceased) of Murray, Utah; Forest Bevan Jensen (Carolyn) of Billings; Bernice Gerrard (Clyde) of Cheyenne; Rex Jensen (Nora) of Swansea, Wales, UK and Chris Jensen (Bonnie) of Powell; 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She knew and loved each one of them. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center in Lovell. A viewing will be held Friday, Aug. 28, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Haskell Funeral Home.
