West Asheville - Clarence Edward "Bill" Embler, 74, of 76 Allen Street died Wednesday, October 17, 2001 at his residence following a period of declining health.
A native of Buncombe County. He was a retired Sheet Metal Mechanic and a W.W. I I veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of the American Legion, Faternal Order of Eagles and Moose Lodge in Bonita Springs, Florida and a member of the V.F.W. Post #891 in Asheville.
He was the son of the late Namon Edward Embler and Geraldine Allen Embler Riddle and was also preceded in death by a son, Charles Allen Embler.
Surviving are his wife, Polly Embler of the home; sons, Namon Edward Embler of Bonita Springs, Florida, James Norman Embler and William Stephen Embler both of Naples, Florida; daughter, Carole Ann Sparr of Palatka, Florida; 11 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday at the V.F.W. Post # 891 on New Leicester Highway. The family will receive friends following services at the V.F.W.
