Marguerite Francis "French" Reetz, 79, of Brainerd, died Monday, April 23, 2007, in Pequot Lakes.
She was born Aug. 31, 1927, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to Charles H. and Edna M. (Dailey) Marsh. She married Darwin Richard Reetz on Aug. 21, 1948, in Windom, Minn. Following their marriage, they made their home in Iowa prior to moving to Brainerd. They later moved to Baker, Mont., returning to Brainerd in 1980.
She worked in the garment industry, Salvation Army, Larco Mfg. and at Cragun's Resort. The most important thing to her was her family. She lived a good life and was a kind and very caring and loving person and dearly loved her husband whom she cherished their 53 years of marriage. She would always stop to help others if they were in need.
Survivors include three sons, James (Tony) Reetz, Baker, Mont., David (Terri) Reetz, Clearwater, Minn., and Randy (Kathy) Reetz, Baxter, Minn.; brother, Robert (Marge) Marsh, Brainerd, Minn.; sister, Beverly (Marsh) Foster, Estherville, Iowa; six grandchildren, Nicholas (Shelley) Reetz, Minneapolis, Amy (Kelly) Anlauf, Brooklyn Park, Minn., Jim (Tammy) Reetz Jr., Baker, Mont., Joleen (Marty) Setine, Baker, Mont., JaNae (Chris) Crawford, Baker, Mont., Daryl Reetz, Brainerd, Minn.; six great-grandchildren.
Her parents; one brother, Lavonne "Bud" Marsh; one sister, Maxine (Marsh) Trenary; and one grandson, John Anthony Reetz, died earlier.
