Rev. Richard Pack, was a brother of Rev. Thomas Pack, Dean of Ossory, and a son of Thomas Packe, a merchant from Ballinakill, Queen's Co. He entered Trinity College Dublin June 7, 1748, aged 14. He received his B.A. in 1752, M.A. in 1773, LL.B. and LL.D. in 1774.
He was Treasurer of Leighlin Cathedral, and
Principal of Ormonde School, later called Kilkenny College.
