Mrs. Rosa Belle Rash was born in Lucas county, Iowa, July 14, 1858, and passed away at her home in Derby, Iowa, October 24, 1948, at the age of 90 years, three months and 10 days. When 19 years of age she moved with her parents to Clarinda, Iowa.

In the year of 1880, she was united in marriage to John Farrell, of Clarinda, Iowa. To this union one son, Bernard Farrell, of Des Moines, was born.

On March 9, 1885, she was united in marriage to William Rash, who preceded her in death March 15, 1936. To this union five children were born to brighten their home, Mrs. Maggie James, of Chanute, Kans.; one son, Claudie, who died at the age of 13 months; Mrs. Lenna Smith, of Chanute, Kans.; Mrs. Hollie Scott and Mrs. Homer George, both of Derby, Iowa.

Also left to mourn her passing are 17 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren, besides many friends and neighbors. She was a kind and loving mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. E. Clark. Burial was in the Derby cemetery. Pallbearers were her six grandsons.
