OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN) - April 23, 2001

Charlotte A. Porter, 55, 824 Summit Ave., died Sunday, April 22, 2001 at Community Care Center.

Born June 15, 1945, in Knoxville, Tenn., she was the daughter of Lester and Alma (Slaughter) Damewood. In 1960 she married Gordon W. Porter Jr., who died in 1995.

She was a nurse's aid at Vernon Manor Children's Home, Wabash.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cathy (Bruce) Chandler, Dothan, Ala.; Patricia (Randy) Musselman, Warren; Donna Porter, Kokomo; two brothers, Ronnie and Terry Damewood, both of Kokomo; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Clara Banks, Ima and Dennis Chapman, Brenda and Mike Dunham and Patricia and Ernie Fouch, all of Kokomo; three grandsons, Travis Fierstos, Wabash and Korey and Craig Niccum, both of Warren. She was preceded in death a son and two sisters.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home, Eddingfield Chapel, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash, Dennis Chapman will officiate. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
