Alva Johnson Wollam was born May 14, 1892 in Layland, Ohio. He was the son of Alfred Lincoln Wollam and Emma Louise Williamson. He joined the U. S. Army just before the end of WW I. He settled in Texas and worked for Humble Oil Company.
He married Sylvia Maude Rogers. born in Wirth, Arkansas, on August 25, 1928. During their lifetime, the Wollams owned and operated the Wollam Lumber Company in Danbury. They were the parents of two daughters, Mildred Ellen and Ruth Louise. He died February 20, 1961 in Houston, Texas. Burial was in the Danbury Cemetary.
