D. T. Roper, Injured in Fall, Dies
D. T. Roper, farmer residing near Davis for many years, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at the home of his son, Tom Roper near Wynnewood, with whom he was making his home.
While hauling feed stuff last Thursday Mr. Roper fell from a wagon, broke his collarbone and sustained internal injuries. At the time it was not believed his injuries were serious, but later he became worse and passed away.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Davis Monday afternoon, the pastor, Rev. C. R. McClelland, conducting the service. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery.
Mr. Roper was born near Marshall, Ark., 69 years ago. He came to Oklahoma in 1914. He married Miss Laura Reynolds, to which union four sons and four daughters were born. His wife and one daughter preceded him in death.
Survivors are his sons, Tom of Wynnewood, Lon and Horace of Davis, and Ruby of Shawnee; three daughters, Mrs. Martha Simmons, Tulane, Calif.; Mrs. Ollie Matthews, Shawnee, and Miss Myrtle Lee Roper, Enid; one sister, Mrs. Ann Reed, California; and many grandchildren.
