Pardena Harrison was born May 19, 1856, at Midland, Mo. She joined the Baptist church when 17 years of age and later in life joined the Methodist church. She was married to Taylor Harris when they were young. She was the mother of 14 children, ten of whom are living. They are Ed Harris, Van Buren; Lee of Claremore, Okla.; Obie of Fayetteville; Albert of Wichita, Kans.; Elmer of Elkins; Mrs. Susie Shumate of Elkins; Mrs. Martha Rice of Reydon, Okla.; Mrs. Mable Witt of San Diego, Calif.; and Mrs. Belle Magee of Westfork. All the children were present at the funeral except Mrs. Rice, Mrs. Witt and Albert. She leaves a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Her husband died over 35 years ago. She was a good Christian woman, a good mother and a friend to all. Rev. Charles Waymore conducted the funeral service at Mt. Salem Sunday afternoon Jan. 16. She died at the home of her son, Elmer, Sunday morning at 1:30. A large crowd was present at the funeral. We extend sympathy to the bereayed ones. A Friend.

She married John Taylor Harris 9-4-1874 in Sullican County, Missouri son of Carter Harris. He was born 7-20-1850 in Tennessee and died 4-17-1899 in Elkins, Washington County, Arkansas
