Services for Harry F. (Hap) Bernhardt, 79, Speedway, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Conkle Funeral Home, with burial in Floral Park Cemetery. A lifelong Indianapolis area resident, he died Friday in Methodist Hospital. Mr. Bernhardt was a Speedway policeman until his retirement in 1965.
He served as fire chief of Speedway during World War II, and as town marshal from 1936 until the mid 1940's. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church and the Police League of Indiana, and was a former member of the Speedway Lions
Club. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rose Bernhardt; and a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Knoebel of Speedway.
