Born in Ottawa, IL, she resided in Fairfield the past 45 years with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Avery Adams, a World War II B-17 tailgunner, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, who retired as a master sergeant with 26 years of service in the US Air Force. He was an aircraft flight engineer in 1966 at Travis AFB CA.
While in service the Air Force couple and their family were stationed at Keesler AFB, MS; Wichita Falls, TX; Newport News VA; Andersen AFB, Guam; and Travis AFB, their last assignment.
Mary did volunteer work with Family Services assisting arriving families and children at their new assignments. She was an avid arts and crafts devotee and was devoted to her Lhasa Apso, Freddie.
