Blanche was the eldest child of of William M. Wesbrook and Emma Martha Donihue. She was probably born on one of two of her father's farms - one in China Township and the other in Cottrellville Township, both near Marine City, Michigan. After her father's tragic death in a farming accident, Blanche and her brothers were reared by their great-aunts, Maggie, Jennie and Dolly Donihue, on the family farm on Recors Point in East China Township, St. Clair County, Michigan; they later lived in nearby Marine City. Blanche was a graduate of Mount Pleasant College, now Central Michigan University, and was a teacher at one-room country schools.

Blanche was a redhead. She and Norman Booth were married 10 November 1900 in Sarnia, Lambton County, Ontario, although their daughter Virginia averred that they were married on New Year's Eve. They raised their mother of 8 children: Irene, Harry, Clara, Muriel, Virginia, Benjamin, Norman and Florence, on their farm on Booth Road in China Township; the farm had been part of her father's property. About 1952, they relocated to southern California, where some of their children lived. Blanche was a member of the Methodist Church. While she could drive a car, she could not back it up and would call for her husband, "Norm, come back the car up for me!" --
