Robert A. Purdy. 74. died at his home In the Rocky River church section near here today at 1:40 a. m. after an Illness of seven months. He was a farmer and was born In Anderson county, the son of Samuel A. and Sarah Boyd Purdy. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cora Gable Purdy; two sons, Pierce and Henry Purdy, Iva; five, daughters. Mrs. Joe Ferguson, Mrs. J. W. Loftis and Mrs. Caruth Loftis, Iva; Miss Louise Purdy, the home, and Mrs. J. B. Simpson, Abbeville; one brother, Will Purdy, Iva; one sister, Miss Hattie Purdy, Iva: 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Rocky River Baptist church, of which he was member, conducted by Rev. M. A. Guest and Rev. M. M. Brooks. Interment In church cemetery. Pallbearers will be James. Carol, Eston and Jesse Purdy, Clifton and Arthur Loftis. Honorary escort will be Randolph Watson. Will Young, W. B. Latham, J. T. Stokes, W. D. Latham, L. H. Simpson, p. B. and Will Galley.
