Funeral services for Mr. Oris James Pete, 67, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 7, 2009 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.

Burial will be in the Bertrand Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Funeral home visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009 and from 8:00 am until the time of service on Monday. A rosary led by Mr. Bill Marceaux will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, in the funeral home chapel.

Mr. Pete died at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Pete was a native of Iota, La. and resided in Jennings for the past 21 years. He was a foundation driller and was a past member of Long Gulley Hunting Club.

He is survived by three daughters; Jennifer Pete of Basile, La., Maxine Nelson and Penny Nelson of Sierra Vista, Az., a son; Malcom James Pete of Hathaway, La. and two sisters; Lillian Lopez of Jennings, La. and Helen Breaux of Lake Charles, La., 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren

Mr. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Mayo and Augustine Reed Pitre; his wife, Sandra Dupont Pete, two daughters; Rebecca Ann Pete and Michelle Nicole Pete and a grandson, Thomas O'Neal Deshotel.
