EDMOND — Irene Tennis, 95, of Edmond, Okla. passed away March 19, 2011 in Bixby, Okla. She was born on September 2, 1915 in Henryetta, Okla. to Charles and Dorothy Tanquary. Irene worked for 1st National Bank of Edmond as a teller for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Edmond. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Tennis, her parents, daughters Connie Boland and Bonnie Tennis, four sisters and three brothers. Irene is survived by her grandchildren Dale Tennis and wife Yvette, Michelle Brawley and husband Eddy, Toyna Nimmo and husband Mark and Brandi McCutchan and husband Rob; great grandchildren Alexis and Taylor Tennis, Brittany Stout and husband Matt, Robert Newburn, Dustin Brawley, Tom Newburn and wife Melinda, Lynnsey Pierce and husband Ryan, Josh Brawley and wife Kara, Brandon, Brianna and Bryan Boland, Brayden Boland, Levi and Lily McCutchan; great great grandchildren Madelyn Stout, Makenzie, Wade and Hayden Pierce and Sydney Newburn. Funeral services for Irene will be 9 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Edmond with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Matthews Funeral Home 601 S. Kelly Edmond, OK 73003 to help pay for funeral expenses.
