Edwin E. Conklin Rites Here; Northwest Pioneer
Funeral services for Edwin E. Conklin, 78, were held at the W. H. George chapel Monday at 10 a.m., the Rev. J. A. Martin officiating. Interment was in Highland cemetery.
Mr. Conklin was born at Fond du Lac, Wis., Sept. 6, 1851. When 7 years old he moved to Minnesota with his parents, where he resided for 28 years. On Jan. 16, 1884, he was married to Mary Empson and after six years residence in North Dakota the couple moved to Pullman, Wash., where they lived for 19 years. From Washington they moved to Portage, Mont., where the Conklin ranch was homesteaded.
He is survived by his wife and one sister, Mrs. E. M. Dimmick, Gig Harbor, Wash.; and by several nieces and nephews.
