Was secretary to Mayor Marx of Detroit, Michigan (circa 1918), was on Tuscania troop ship to England/France when ship was torpedoed by German U Boat 77 sub during Feb. of 1918 off shore of N. Ireland off coast of Islay. He and Abner Larned were the only two civilian survivors! Also was reporter for Detroit Free Press newspaper before 1918?

Married to Ruby B. Hickson Fitzgerald (9 Apr 1925) and had two children. Thomas Edw. Fitzgerald and Sally A. Fitzgerald of Detroit, Mi.

Was also a Sports newscaster for Detroit Tigers from time to time!

Had one son and one daughter...
