Buried at the William Murphy Cemetery on Old Fredericktown Road south east of Farmington, Alva "Alvie" Murphy was the 4th of six children to Henderson Monda Murphy and Mary J. (nee Beck) Murphy. Henderson Monda Murphy was the sherif of St. Francois County from 1903 to 1905.
According to Alice Murphy Sturgess' book from 1918, chapter 9, Henderson took his remaining family and went to Colorado Springs, CO. See book link on either Henderson (the elder) or Emily Murphy buried in this cemetery.
